GRIPS Energy AG is led by a highly entrepreneurial team of clean tech pioneers and finance experts. The GRIPS founders and management team combine the experience of implementation of more than 500 MW of renewable energy projects in 25 countries over the last 20 years.
Alexander Voigt (CEO) – Alexander Voigt, physicist, is one of Germany’s top green serial entrepreneurs and has co-founded and held board positions in several listed and unlisted companies such as SOLON, Q-Cells, Global Solar, Younicos, Gildemeister Energy Solutions, and Blue Chip Energy.
Michael Friedel (CTO) – Michael is a technology expert and system designer with international experience. He has an extensive background in design and implementation of storage systems and renewable energies generators as well as software development.
Timon Herzog (COO) – Timon is a renewable energy and international cooperation expert who joined Grips from the German Development Cooperation (GIZ). He collected broad experience and held management positons in the renewable energy and development cooperation sectors in different parts of the world.
Jens Christian Gloede (Chairman) – For over two decades Jens has been driving technological innovation with a focus on hardware and software systems design. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to founding and managing various successful ventures including FAST LTA, FAST TV TECHNOLOGY, Interpersonal Computing, Plan.Net media and Unseen Ideas.
Christin Schäfer (Deputy Chairwoman) – Christin, statistician, recently started her own data science business. Before that she collected broad managerial experience in process and risk management and IT, among others as Group Risk Operating Officer at ERSTE Group Bank and as Head of Quantitative Solutions at Deutsche Bank.
Michael Schneider (Member) – Michael is an impact entrepreneur with a track record in structuring cutting-edge sustainable financial products. He has over 20 years of experience in banking, most recently as Head of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) for the Asset & Wealth Management Division of Deutsche Bank.
Danny Kennedy (Strategic Advisor) – Danny is a clean-technology entrepreneur, environmental activist and author. He co-founded Sungevity as well as the solar incubator Powerhouse and today serves as Managing Director at the California Clean Energy Fund. Danny also sits on the boards of various clean-tech start-ups and serves with several non-profits.
